The Nexus S gets MeeGo and Ubuntu Linux (video)

You've got to hand it to the Nexus S. Nexus S just received not one, but two OS ports. The folks at xda-developers have decided that the Nexus S would be a suitable candidate to run Nokia’s MeeGo operating system and they’ve managed to accomplish it. The build isn’t fully working yet (the phone is basically unusable) but you can expect to see an improved build in the coming weeks.

Now, Someone has taken it one step further and gotten Ubuntu Linux running on the phone. As usual with these unofficial hacks, the device isn’t fully functional at the moment with the touchscreen being one major feature that isn’t working just yet. There isn’t any flashing of firmware required in this hack as the file is loaded onto internal memory, though you’ll need Fastboot to load the image.
