Samsung Droid Charge officially announced

The Samsung Droid Charge has finally been announced by Verizon. The Samsung Droid Charge will cost you $300 up front, with a 2-year contract – but I guess that’s the price you have to pay for 4G technology, at least until it becomes the new norm.

Samsung Droid Charge Features and Specification:
  • a 4.3″ Super AMOLED Plus display
  • 1GHz processor
  • 8megapixel rear camera with LED flash
  • 1.3megapixel front facing camera
  • a 4G LTE radio to support Verizon’s 4G network
  • Android 2.2
  • Adobe Flash support
  • Mobile Hotspot capability (share 4G connection with up to 10 WiFi devices, while 3G shares for up to 5)
  • access to the Samsung Media Hub for renting or purchasing videos
  • SWYPE preloaded for the phone

Let’s hope this phone doesn’t suffer the same battery life problems as the HTC ThunderBolt. The Droid Charge goes on sale April 28 at Verizon outlets and their online store.
