Sony Reader app is available for free

Sony has finally released their long-awaited Reader app that can be used to get books off the Sony eBook store. The app is available for free, though most of the books you would want to read on it won’t be.


The app supports Epub, PDF formats and allows you to easily sync your previously purchased books onto your Android device.

Sony has confirmed that the app will only work on phones running Android 2.2 and above. With none of the Sony Ericsson phones officially on 2.2, it’s going to be funny to see that a Sony phone won’t be able to run a Sony app.

An iOS version should be arriving in the near future as well. Head over to the Android Market to download the app for free now.
