Google Nexus S coming in few weeks with Android 2.3 Gingerbread

Google CEO Eric Schmidt just confirmed the Nexus S would run Gingerbread and should be available in the “next few weeks”.

He also hinted that mobile payments would play a large role in Gingerbread and that a phone like the Nexus S could replace credit cards.

Not a lot of information was revealed about the phone--Schmidt says it's an unannounced product from an unnamed manufacturer.

At last, the phone is confirmed to run Android Gingerbread (version 2.3).
