Free 3G Mobile Broadband on Chrome OS Netbook Offering by Verizon Wireless


Verizon Wireless has announced that it is joining Google on its Chrome OS roll out my offering customers who want to use Chrome netbooks 100 MB of free mobile broadband data on the carrier's 3G network per month for 24 months. The carrier is also offering other plans and pricing, including pricing that starts at $9.99 unlimited data per day. 

The First Chrome OS Netbook : Google Cr-48


Google has just announced an unbranded Google Cr-48 laptop, which is the symol for the chromium isotope on the periodic table. The device will be distributed through a Chrome OS Pilot Program, which is in public beta and users can apply for if interested. Google's hoping that early users will provide feedback, and there isn't a purchase option right now for Cr-48; retail units from Acer and Samsung will be made available in 2011.

Some sources have told Engadget that Google will be holding some sort of event on Tuesday, December 7th. It looks like next week Google is going to start talking about how its Chrome operating system is coming along and on that day Google is also gearing up to launch its own self-branded netbook running the company's Chrome OS on December 7th at an event.

Chrome-featured smartbooks launching this month

The folks over at Digitimes are reporting that the next generation smartbooks that will feature the Google Chrome OS will be launched later this month, with Google planning to launch its own Chrome notebook, using a similar strategy to the Nexus One.

Google's Chrome notebook is expected to be manufactured by Inventec with initial shipments to reach 60,000-70,000 units. The Google Chrome notebook will feature an ARM-based platform and will not be selling through retail channels.

The comman specifications of these NetBooks: an Intel core i5 processor, GeForce 420M graphics with Optimus, 500GB hard drive, 4GB of RAM.

Samsung today announced the new NF310 netbook .It comes with Intel Atom Dual-Core processor and a stunning HD display.
