Nuance Powers Voice Search Used In Amazon's Latest Price Check

Nuance communications has just announced that they were the ones behind the voice search function in Price Check by Amazon. Amazon's latest Price Check app, a useful app from the online retailing giant that allows you to easily check the price of items by using the item's barcode, snapping a picture of it, or saying the name out aloud.

The app would then go through Amazon’s price listings and display the prices at which you can get it from Amazon.com. If the price on Amazon.com is more favorable, you can simply login to your account using the app and place an order online. If not, you can just purchase the item from wherever you are at the moment.
 

The technology used is the same core technology found in the popular Dragon Dictation and Dragon Search apps that have already been downloaded by millions of mobile consumers around the globe.
