|

Apple announced today that movies are now available on the iTunes Store in Japan. Apple appears to be increasing its efforts to reach Japan, as it also announced this week that it will partner with The Dentsu Group to launch the iAd service in the country. The first iAds will arrive in early 2011.

Prices for the titles will begin at 200 Yen ($2.43) for a back catalog, standard definition rental and hit 400 Yen ($4.86) for new releases while HD rentals will increase the price by 100 Yen ($1.20). Movie purchases will range between 1,000 ($12) and 2,000 Yen ($24) for standard definition movies and between 2,000 to 2,500 Yen ($30) for the HD version.
