Rumors of Skype and Facebook working together to come up with something cool surface from time to time and now a snippet of Facebook code has fueled the rumors again. A Facebook app developer has discovered code for a service called VideoChat and according to him, it appears to have everything needed to introduce video chatting functionality.
There are portions of the code that mention Skype directly, possibly hinting that there might be future integration with Skype address books or using your Skype ID to chat with Facebook users. The code also checks for ActiveX or Skype SDK plugin support.
Will we see video chat as a feature on Facebook anytime soon?
